American Politics...

"Change"... has decidedly been 2008 U.S. presidential election's catchword. The politicians that candidates generally are, each has naturally been quick to identify themselves as exactly the person who would lead the U.S. to just that...offering their respective spins, conveniently tailored to random and various audiences they happen to address at given times.

Yes, we can give credit to Sen. Obama for capturing in a word for us, a movement we now must add passion to... along with an honest consideration to a new world order. In reality, however, there is no mistaking... motion has already been set. And were we in fact to give due credit, it would actually have to be the situation we now have become subject to, courtesy of the current administration's relentless display of stubbornness and arrogance. Our responsibility now is, to take a pause, look in the mirror...(please, do if you haven't yet)... and realize how we have allowed ourselves to be compromised inside an institution we have become all too complacent with.

Allow me to explain my personal viewpoint with a "
sportsworld sense" kind of twist. I used to always receive raised eyebrows in return... every time I would point out that the San Diego Chargers' rise to their current "to be reckoned with", level of competitiveness in American football (Yes, I am biased, I am a fan...), was made possible by the organization's draft selection of the "all-beleaguered" former quarterback Ryan Leaf. History of course has shown how he single-handedly drove the team to a low the club had nowhere to eventually go but up. The pitiful situation allowed the team to earn favorable draft positions.. thus a more sustained tide of positive "changes" hence.

Therefore, my dear compatriots, we really need not wait every four years for us to re-pave our ways. First as an individual/family/friends, as a community, then a nation... and finally as global citizens.. let's possess the burden of taking the time to measure and letting own positive contributions and progressive senses of fulfillment be the stakes. Compared to other societies... we already have, by far, plenty more of what it'll take. Just start noticing the many good things already within grasp, the spirit and resolve... generations before have left us to follow and let evolve. And as long as honesty is let rule, natural "feel good" chain of events will have no other way but gradually ensue...

Just sharing an opinion...
