Travel... Dubai...

Centered in it's capital city of Dubai, The United Arab Emirates has, indeed, become quite a hotbed of activities in today's fast transitioning Gulf States. (Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar being the others). Strategically located, it has become a vital link between the East and the West, even more significant now as global concepts continue being adapted onto today's expanding horizons in international commerce.

The hope of course is, that efforts on economic leadership will include just as strongly... the social, cultural and political web of responsibilities that come along in order to merit as much, the value of contributions a nation or a region could impart... to further foster an ever forging international sense of community.

Meanwhile, my take on Dubai's wish to become a signature destination... planning its emerging cityscape should inspire more the cultivation of a sense of history and culture of its land and people, reflected through architectural designs... else the opportunity to let imprint a character all its own will be merely lost.. rather than be distinctly recognized.

Otherwise, want to cool off from the summer's desert heat? How about the new oasis known as "Ski Dubai"... http://www.skidxb.com/English/default.aspx
