Environment, Industry...

Here's a concern from the Pacific Northwest... the current battle on the Spartina eradication efforts.

From someone not too well versed on the above specific issue... simply, my twofold curiosity:
a) Shouldn't we allow nature to take its own course in letting an environmental concern balance itself out?
b) Are corporate profits once again in on peddling influence to justify shortsighted gains and utter disregard of long term consequences?
